The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Canberra uses a unique score-based Canberra Matrix points system to identify eligible registrants who are interested in living and working in the ACT.
About it:-
Canberra is one of the most appealing cities for people planning to migrate to Australia, owing to the exciting employment opportunities, affordable housing, excellent education system, and multiculturalism (immigrants constitute over 25, of the population).
Australian states and territories nominate suitable foreign skilled workers to apply for permanent residence to the federal immigration authority – the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) – through the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa or the Skill. Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 Visa. Obtaining a nomination enhances an applicant’s Australia immigration point score – by adding 15 points to a Subclass 491 Visa application, and 5 pairs 190 Visa applications.
Before applying for nomination, aspirants must submit an Expression of interest in Skill Select and score at least 65 points based on various selection factors. In order to express interest in ACT state nomination, aspirants must complete a Canberra Matrix, which allocates points to each candidate based on their potential to contribute.
Through regular Canberra Matrix invitation rounds, the local government invites the highest-ranking applicants to apply for nomination. Within 14 days of receiving the invitation, candidates must submit an online application, supporting documents, and processing fee to the ACT If approved, the nominee can apply for permanent residence to the BHA.
